Select Structural Solutions was established by and is presently operated by Christopher P. Sekol, PE, SE.  Chris is a practicing structural engineer with more than 24 years of experience in the design of architectural building structures.  Prior to establishing Select Structural Solutions in 2011, Chris managed the structural engineering departments for two firms in Columbus, one being a true design build company specializing in the design and construction of churches across the United States.  Several key strengths include broad experience with a variety of building uses including medical/hospitals, schools, gymnasiums/sports arenas, parking structures, etc.; experience with unique design environments including west-coast seismic criteria, high wind velocity and hurricane prone regions, expansive soil conditions common to the southwest, and heavy snow exposure regions of the northern New England states.  Of most importance may be the exposure to a true design-build process and philosophy obtained while serving in a firm that offered all three building professions –  architectural, engineering, and general contracting (or, A/E/C for short) – under one roof.  The process fostered an uncommon approach to project management, and therefore client service, by requiring the collaboration of three professions that at times underperform due to competing interests.
